Who We Are (the consultancy)?
MIIEN Consultancy is a 3x nominated styling and creative branding consultancy based in the DMV area, founded by certified image consultant (by AICI), Mikara Reid. We know that your physical appearance (your clothing style) is the first thing almost everyone notices about you when you walk into a room. This is why we also love helping high-achieving professionals (outside of servicing online fashion retailers) understand who they are and how to present a better version of themselves to stand out in their respective industry to garner the authority that’s needed to succeed.
MIIEN Consultancy was established in 2015 in Miami, Florida. There was an uptick of high-end fashion opportunities in New York and Miami, so Mikara decided to move forward into full-time entrepreneurship with her fashion business. Over the years of doing fashion editorial styling, advertising styling, e-commerce, wardrobe styling, visual merchandising, and assisting celebrity stylists, Mikara Reid gravitated towards her happy space in fashion: personal styling, visual merchandising, and creative branding.

At MIIEN Consultancy, we have been all about helping you create a sustainable everyday wardrobe. We offer our committed, self-actualizing clients practical solutions and a strategy that aligns with their lifestyle using Mikara Reid’s proprietary system. She will be your professional fashion consultant and/or advisor in your pocket, helping you get better opportunities by utilizing your personal appearance as a brand marketing tool.
Since our practices have evolved into sustainable everyday fashion and brand, we DO NOT support our clients in wearing fast fashion brands as this goes against Mikara Reid’s proprietary system for long-term results. Mikara has close ties with many indie fashion labels as well as curating MIIEN's very own shopping experience with our very own clothes.

Who’s Mikara Reid?
A New Jersey native-turned DMV transplant, Mikara Reid is the Founder/CEO of the brand MIIEN. Beyond her love for getting dressed up, organizing closets, executing fashion projects, and truly using her distinctive image as a business card, Mikara has over 15 years of experience in the fashion, retail, and communication space, working under prominent brands and companies such as: Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York, Bravo’s Project Runway, Louis Vuitton, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Omari Hardwick, Miss USA 2016, BET Rip the Runway, The RealReal, GAP, Juicy Couture, EXPRESS and so much more. Although she never saw a career in fashion while growing up in New Jersey as a child athlete, fashion kept reappearing in her life in different mediums throughout her impressionable years.
After having a lot of encouragement from a close cousin over a course of months to try fashion out again, it was when Mikara came across a famous celebrity stylist (Toye Adedipi) in LAX airport while traveling, she decided to try out styling. Thankfully, her close cousin had those words of encouragement months before; it turned out, this was the area of fashion that excited her compared to the other sectors of fashion. With all her experience and knowledge garnered throughout these 15 years, she is able to provide this high-quality service to you.
